The set consists of 5 luxury volumes of 300 pages each, together forming 1,500 pages of whisky history. The bottles are arranged alphabetically by brand and chronologically within each brand. The oldest bottle in the collection dates from 1843, making this work not only a bottle catalogue, but also an impressive journey through the history of bottled whisky.

Hans & Becky Offringa, internationally known as The Whisky Couple, wrote and produced this publication on behalf of Scotch Whisky International. Wherever possible, historical context has been added, placing brands, bottlings, labels and bottle shapes within their period.

The first four volumes contain the collection itself. Each volume opens with a short essay on subjects such as Valentino Zagatti, the history of glass, the history of labels and the psychology of collecting. The fifth volume, the Appendix, contains museum information, indexes and an extensive register of whisky companies.
