The book continues the tradition of Wallace Milroy’s Malt Whisky Almanac, first published in 1986. Neil Wilson carried the work forward and eventually published it under the title Whisky in your Pocket, now available in a Dutch-language edition.

Each Scottish distillery is presented with a short profile, including key details such as telephone number, website, water source, grain origin, number of stills and, where available, a concise tasting note for the standard bottling. Grain distilleries, new distilleries and Scottish blends are also included.

The distilleries are organised not alphabetically, but by region. Each region has its own colour code, making the guide quick and easy to use while reading, planning or travelling.
